Church Kitchen in a seemingly impossible space?

Church Kitchen in a seemingly impossible space?

Back in the Autumn, not long before Christmas, we received a visit from Father Michael, a very pleasant and kind man of the cloth who was looking to upgrade his church kitchen. He explained that he needed to reorganise the cooking area in his church so that they could provide food and refreshments to their congregation and community. We were obviously very happy to help, especially during this difficult time when there are more people needing food than ever. We went over to the premises to assess. Wow, must be said we were a little dismayed – catering equipment tends to work best in right angles. But look at the angles in this room!!

Eek was our private response… The kitchen needed all new equipment and all new fabrications – but fabrications, like equipment, prefer to be made in right angles. Getting one angle wrong by one or two degrees means the unit sits completely askew along the wall. A lot of accurate angle measuring took place. A lot of discussion with our Fabrications Manager to try to make the fabrications as accurate as possible. Well, on completion you will see from the field photos below that the kitchen looks great!! The photos start from the top left corner and work their way clockwise round the kitchen. Let us know your thoughts!

Cookline – Foster 2-Door Counter Fridge, Lincat Double Fryer, Lincat 4-Ring Induction Hob
High Speed Microwave Convection Merrychef E4, Bespoke Fabrications with void for Foster Undercounter Fridge (to come)
Dishwash Area – Winterhalter Undercounter Dishwasher, Bespoke Fabrications, with space for a Storage Rack
Lincat Combi Oven, Lincat Undercounter Food Warming Drawers, Bespoke Fabrications

That’s plenty of cooking equipment for a church, and enough sinks and surfaces to work on. But where is the drinks station? Front of house, round the corner from the kitchen:
