Providing quality kitchen solutions for schools and colleges

We have over 25 years experience in design, manufacture, supply and installation of commercial catering equipment in school kitchens. We make kitchens that are functional, energy efficient and equipped to produce high quality freshly produced meals. As well as supplying all commercial catering equipment, we also manufacture the full range of commercial catering stainless steel tables, sinks, cupboards and shelves - to your exact specification. We work closely with both local authorities and directly with individual schools and colleges.
We're always happy to discuss school kitchen requirements, please contact us for more information.

Design consultancy is one of the core parts of our business. With our in-house design team we work for schools, local authorities, academies, national building firms and architects to design energy-efficient kitchens. Whether it be additional preparation space in an existing kitchen to being issued with architects drawings to design a kitchen from scratch we have the expertise.

We will look at menu type, pupil numbers, length of foodservice, increased capacity, carbon footprint and environmental impact when designing a new facility. Following approval of our Autocad drawings we can apply water gas and electric services to the drawing in the correct positions enabling the working drawing to form the main communications tool between all trades and specialists.

We specialise in the supply of catering equipment for use in the school catering environment. We are holders of the ESPO CONTRACT 98 for commercial catering equipment which covers everything from food preparation equipment through to cooking and warewashing machines. Our experience means we are experts in product selection suitable for this task. We only use tried and tested suppliers whose equipment we have used or had trialled by one of our Local Authority customers. We are happy to advise on product selection and can give energy usage and water consumption figures.

Case studies and installations

Birmingham Metropolitan College

Birmingham Metropolitan College wanted a new fresh inviting catering facility next to their Costa Coffee outlet at the front of their campus to attract more students to eat on site. The concept was grab and go streetfood, with an emphasis on being able to see the food prepared. We also had to contend with the fact that the facility was going to be across a corridor with glass walls from a new state of the art Technology suite and the college wanted us to match the feel.

We put great emphasis on making the counter look modern using Corian tops and frontage with drop in refrigerated self service deli units. We then chose Passthrough combination ovens so the students could see the items cooking and the serving staff could unload as the food became available.

The project has been a great success and uptake of meals has increased dramatically.

Arden School

Arden School asked us for some food technology classrooms with mobile teachers stations so dependant on the size of the group the teacher could demonstrate cooking techniques /recipes close to the pupils workstations. We designed and manufactured the unit shown below for this purpose.

The same unit can be used in Primary Schools to do food demonstration in a normal classroom. The unit wheels through a normal width doorway and can have different configurations of equipment. Behind the hinged door on the left hand side we can either have a slide out bin or a mobile hand wash basin with hot water supply.

Sutton Girls Grammar School

We were asked by the School and their food service consultants to design an additional servery to take the pressure off the main serving hatch. The school had good uptake of meals and were struggling to get the numbers through during the one hour lunch period. We designed a series of mobile units that when connected together formed a servery in the dining room serving refrigerated items including sandwiches, salad pots and dessert items. At the end of this we had two remote till points. The pupils were able to now chose between a traditional hot meal, or visit the new remote servery for cold grab and go items.
